Water Treatment Plant Update

Work to complete the permanent water treatment system at the District’s Water Treatment Plant is continuing.

Since the last update in January, the permanent clarifier has been delivered to site, new heating equipment has been installed, and the new chemical storage room has been constructed and finished. Significant repairs to the concrete floor inside the plant have also been completed, including replacement of a large portion of the slab. New piping and drains beneath the floor have been installed, and interior plumbing work has progressed.

The District is now in the process of awarding the remainder of the work required to complete the permanent treatment system.

Some of the upcoming work will require significant excavation outside the Water Treatment Plant building. This will include installation of new water and sewer service piping from the mains in the street to the building. Other exterior work will include structural upgrades to the exterior walls and foundation and the installation of in-ground concrete tanks.

Temporary disruptions to water service or precautionary boil water notices may be required during commissioning and final connections later this year. The District will provide advance notice of any planned service interruptions or boil water notices and will continue to keep the public informed as this work progresses.
