The District of Hudson’s Hope has developed and maintains a Municipal Emergency Plan which guides the District’s actions to prepare for, respond to and recovery from major emergencies. The plan identifies the key hazards which threaten our community, prioritizes actions to be taken, and documents roles and responsibilities of staff and key response agencies who also participate in the municipality’s emergency response and recovery efforts.
The District maintains the ability to activate one of two Emergency Operations Centres at the request of the Incident Commander or senior municipal officials to provide overall jurisdictional direction and control, coordination, and resource support during emergency response and recovery efforts. To facilitate this, many of the District staff including those who have identified roles within the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) have received training in Emergency Management and EOC operations.
