hh museum (4)The museum is housed in an old Hudson’s Bay Trading Store on the banks of the Peace River. The museum features local pioneering, First Nations and fur trading displays as well as dinosaur fossils and tracks. Also on site are pioneer cabins, heritage garden, children’s fossil dig and picnic area where there’s a good chance of viewing eagles on the river.

museum familyHudson’s Hope is one of the few communities in the world lucky enough to have a dinosaur named after it. Hudsonelpidia, a large ichthyosaur, was first discovered here in the early 1960’s. The Hudson’s Hope Museum Marine Reptile displays feature the Hudsonelpidia.
