Community Hall Demolition to Begin This Week

The District of Hudson’s Hope would like to advise residents that demolition of the former Community Hall is anticipated to begin on Friday, August 28, 2026. The work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
For the safety of the public and workers, residents are asked to stay clear of the work area at all times. Heavy equipment, demolition activities, and truck traffic will be present throughout the project.
Earlier this month, all identified hazardous materials requiring removal, including asbestos-containing materials, lead-containing materials, and mercury-containing equipment, were removed from the building by a qualified hazardous materials abatement contractor. This work was completed in accordance with applicable requirements before demolition begins.
The demolition contractor will use dust control measures throughout the project to minimize airborne dust and keep the site safe.
The District appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is underway. Anyone with questions, concerns, or observations related to the demolition is encouraged to contact the Director of Public Works, Desirée LeBlanc, at 250-783-1455 or desiree@hudsonshope.ca so they can be addressed promptly.
