Tree Work in Local Parks

You may notice forestry crews working in some of our local parks this week.

Certified foresters are currently in town assessing trees in our parks and campgrounds to help ensure they are safe for everyone to enjoy. This work began on Monday, May 11, and includes treating or removing trees that were identified as higher risk based on a number of safety factors. This work will continue throughout the week.

Short‑term access restrictions or detours may be in place while crews are actively working. Any temporary changes to access will be clearly marked with signage at the parks.

This work is part of the District’s ongoing commitment to public safety. Tree assessments and any necessary treatment are planned to be completed annually to help keep our parks and campgrounds safe over the long term.

Where trees must be removed, the District will also look at opportunities to plant new trees in the fall, subject to available budget.
