ICBC Insurance & Driver Licensing Information

ICBC Insurance

Although we are closed for face-to-face transactions, we are able to still offer many services to our customers.  You MUST be able to access an email account while we are talking on the phone.  The email does not have to be “yours” but you need to be the one sending the emails back and forth.

A printer is not necessary.  Original documents and decals will be sent to you by mail.  The only form of payment accepted at this time is credit card over the phone, and payment plan.

Transactions that can be done over the phone are as follows:

  • Renewals
  • Cancellations (plates & paperwork will need to be returned once we re-open)
  • Temporary Operating Permits
  • Storage Policies
  • Vehicle Registrations
  • New plates for an already-owned vehicle
  • New plates with a new registration or transfer of ownership (All original documents (transfer form, registration and bill of sale) MUST be scanned to us before we can start the transaction.  Once our office re-opens, all the original documents will need to be submitted.)

You can download a Transfer Tax Form (APV9T) at, but still need original signatures from both the seller and the purchaser.

It definitely does take a bit more time to do it this way, but at least we are still able to offer some services to our customers 😊


Driver Licensing

We are unable to offer any driver licensing, BC Service Care renewals or BCID services from our office at this time.  You can, however, call Driver Licensing in Victoria at 1-800-950-1498 or 250-978-8300 for access to the following:

  • Renew existing BCDL
  • Reinstate BCDL (if you were cancelled, prohibited or suspended and are eligible to reinstate)
  • Issue replacement BCDL

Driver Licensing cannot provide renewals for BC Services Card or BCID at this time either.  The customer will be mailed an interim paper license that is valid for 90 days.  You will still need to attend an office (once re-opened) to produce your Identification, take your photo and sign.  No photo card will be issued until you attend an office!
